Former Choctaw High School teacher and assistant wrestling coach, Austin Quinton, was sentenced to serve jail time after pleaded guilty to engaging in a sexual relationship with teen student.

Quinton, 25, pleaded guilty to four counts of second-degree rape of a 17-year old female.

Oklahoma County Sheriff John Whetsel (D) has announced he will retire March 1, after serving as sheriff for 20-years.

Gov. Mary Fallin has ordered that a special election will be held in order to fill the vacancy.

Currently inmates at the Oklahoma County Jail are assessed a fee of $32 a day for their confinement. This fee is applied to all inmates, regardless of any finding of guilt or even the filing of criminal charges.
