7/17/2017 - Valley Brook, OK -- Cory Lee Hartsell, 27, of Midwest City, pleaded guilty last week to shooting Valley Brook police officer Brian Southerland in south Oklahoma City on New Year's Day.

Hartsell, who goes by the nickname 'Bang,' was sentenced to serve 30-years in prison.

Hartsell, a previously convicted felon, is a self-proclaimed member of the Blood street gang.

Hartsell shot officer Southerland during a traffic stop.

Hartsell also pleaded guilty to six other felonies, including two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon.
